Russell C. Ferguson Sr., age 95, passed away October 2, 2017. Russell was born, raised, and educated in Everett. After graduating from high school he joined the Coast Guard and served from 1942-46. When he returned from his military service he married his first wife Lillian Ferguson (Nelson) and they settled in Weymouth where they lived and raised their family together for 28 years. Russell then married his second wife Emma Ferguson (DeMichele) and moved to Newton where they resided together for 39 years. He worked as a foreman at a steel mill in Cambridge for many years. Russell enjoyed golfing, boating, and being supportive to his family. In retirement, he created many fond memories at his vacation houses in Cape Cod and Florida.

Russell was predeceased by both of his wives Lillian Ferguson (Nelson) and Emma Ferguson (DiMichele) and his son Russell C. Ferguson Jr. He is survived by his children Sheron Chadwick and her husband Bob of S. Carver, Susan Emanuel and her husband Rick of Abington, Donna Walls and her husband George of South Carolina, and Tim Penney and his wife Ann of South Carolina. Russell is also survived by his ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Russell on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 2-5pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30am Monday for a Funeral Service in the funeral home that will begin promptly at 9am. A military burial will follow at the MA National Cemetery Located in Bourne. Donations in memory of Russell may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind Perkins Trust 175 North Beacon Street Watertown, MA 02472.
