Robert “Okie” O’Connor, age 77, of Weymouth passed away suddenly at home on July 14, 2017. Bob was raised and educated in South Boston before moving to South Weymouth in 1962. He relocated to Wollaston for some time before moving back to Weymouth. He served six years in the Army National Guard and worked for JM Perrone Company in Hingham prior to retirement. Bob enjoyed visiting his friends at Tony’s Spa in South Weymouth and talked often of his memories of his many trips to the Fryeburg Fair with his wife Rosalie whom he married in 1997. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindhearted and generous nature.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Rosalie O’Connor (Grafton) in 2011. He is survived by his siblings Richard O’Connor and his wife Elvira of Dracut, Ronald O’Connor and his wife Betty of Pembroke, and Kathleen Jarvis and her husband Ed of Abington, and also his niece Polly Hitchcock and her husband Steve of South Weymouth who had the pleasure of caring for Bob in his later years. Bob is also survived by his three step-grandchildren Jason, Daijah, and Jared and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services for Bob will be private for his family.
