Harry J. Giblin Sr., age 98, of Weymouth passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday June 21, 2017. Harry was born, raised, and educated in Rockland. After attending Bently College for accounting Harry joined the “CCC” Civilian Conservation Corps where he helped build roads and other such activities. He then married his beloved wife, Louise, before entering the Army and serving his country during the end of WWII. Harry and Bertha settled in Weymouth in 1950 where they raised their family. Harry worked at Bethlehem Steele which eventually became General Dynamics for many years. He enjoyed reading, dancing, and often boasted about how long he has been an avid Red Sox fan.

Harry was predeceased by his wife of over 70 years Louise Giblin (Stackpole). He is the loving father of Pat Lane and her husband Jack of Weymouth, Harry Giblin Jr. and his wife Arlene of Braintree, James Giblin and his wife Nancy of Halifax, Gerald Giblin and his wife Joan of Braintree, and Edward Giblin and his wife Leslie of Weymouth. Harry is also survived by eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Harry which will be held Monday June 26, 2017 from 9:30-10:30AM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A Funeral Mass in honor of Harry will take place at 11AM in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth. Burial will take place immediately after Mass at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Harry may be made to the Norwel VNA and Hospice at 120 Longwater Drive Norwel, MA 02061.
