Janice M. Knowles (Keller) “Chava”, age 61, of Rockland passed away after a long fight with Parkinson's Disease on April 21, 2017. She passed on with close family, friends and religious leaders by her bedside who prayed for her, sang for her, played music for her, and told stories of her good life lived. Jan was born and raised in Weymouth. She lived in Quincy where she started her family then moved into her first house in Pembroke, where she found her lifelong passion for religion. Jan then moved to Halifax and worked as much as she could, to provide a good life for her children. While working and raising her family she went to school and earned her MBA. All the while teaching good religious practices to her friends and family. She was also a singer, song writer and had a beautiful voice. Jan also enjoyed nature photography, acting, and most especially cookouts and cape trips with her family. She had a huge support system wherefamily and friends would share any burden that would arise. Her faith was a constant in her life and ever present till her last days. Chava discovered the messianic Judaism faith about 12 years ago. She was dedicated too it's practices and got amazing support from her congregation especially during her trying days.

Jan is survived by her beloved children Jeffrey Knowles Jr. and his wife Fabiola of Rockland, Jacob Knowles and his fiance Bethany Farias of Rockland, and the Late Christopher Donohue, her devoted siblings Shirley Thomas and her Husband John of Weymouth, and Kenneth Kelley also of Weymouth. Jan is also survived by many loving cousins and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Jan on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4-8 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45AM on Friday for the Funeral Service that will begin promptly at 9AM. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Jan may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
