David W. Chandler, beloved husband of Maureen (Spence) Chandler of Weymouth passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 8, 2017. David,
originally of Squantum, graduated from North Quincy High School in 1958 and
served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1963.

He was the loving father of Robert Chandler of Weymouth, Stephen and Eileen Chandler of Hanover, Stacia Callahan of Rockland, Patricia Chandler of Weymouth, Linda and Timothy Williams of Norwell and Kathleen and Michael Ouellette of Rockland. He was a larger than life superhero Grampy to Colin and Kevin Chandler, Drew, Zachary and Molly Callahan, Shane Considine, CJ and Walter Williams, and Adelaide Ouellette. David was an active member of the Weymouth community serving as a board member of Pop Warner Football, a town meeting member, a Selectman, a member of the conservation commission, the Board of Directors of the Naval Air Station as well the advisory committee to the South Shore Tri-Town Development Corporation. He also served on multiple
building committees and presently a member of the planning board. He was a
founding member of the South Weymouth Neighborhood Association as well as
the 4th of July committee. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid New England
sports fan. His favorite past time was cheering on his grandchildren at
their many sporting events.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for David on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2-6pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Monday February 13 at 8:30AM for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass which will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
