Richard L. Perkins Sr., age 67, passed away from complications during heart surgery, on August 11, 2016. Richard was a lifelong resident of Weymouth sharing 46 years with his beloved wife Alexandra[Sandra]. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Richard worked in environmental services in many healthcare facilities where he was known to be a very hard worker. Richard was generous with his time, quick to help others, and was dedicated to providing for his family. He enjoyed restoring his 1968 Camaro RS, and was an active member of the Weymouth Spindles Club for 16 years.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife Alexandra Perkins (Liszewski) of Weymouth, his loving children Richard L. Perkins Jr., his wife Nicole of AZ, Alicia Perkins of Weymouth and her partner Matt Berg. He especially cherished his grandchildren Gabriel Montenegro, Genevieve, Mitchell, and Powell. He is also survived by his sisters Karen Barrows of NH, Kathleen Corbin of ME, Joy Adams of ME, many loving nieces and nephews, and his extended family including Sandra's siblings Mary, Antoinette, Frances, Janet, and Peter. Richard will be especially missed by his longtime friends Bill and Shirley Parker and Bob and Kathy Lucas.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Richard on Sunday August 21, 2016 from 2-4PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. A service celebrating Richards life will immediately follow the visitation at 4PM. Richard will be interred in the MA National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Monday August 22, 2016 at 10:15AM. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Richard to the Weymouth Veterans Services at 182 Green Street Weymouth, MA 02191.
